“ALexa day combines a formidable intellect and the ability and tenacity to cut through the most complex of cases with the human skills needed to navigate the complex interpersonal stresses of high-stakes disputes.”
Alexa is a CEDR accredited commercial mediator, with a wealth of disputes experience following almost two decades in a top City firm, including 6 years as a Partner.
She has been involved in multiple mediations, including during her time in private practice. Drawing on her wide and varied experience as a City litigation lawyer, Alexa will wrap her arms around any dispute and cut to the heart of the legal and factual issues, whilst recognising that the parties' true commercial and personal objectives often do not jump out of the legal documents, but require expertise, tact and the establishment of trust to unlock.
Highly empathetic, positive and fair-minded, Alexa swiftly puts parties at ease and gains their confidence. She is sensitive to the acute stress that a dispute can bring to all involved, having deep experience from her time in private practice of guiding clients through, in some cases, existential crises.
She will work with each party to think creatively and commercially as well as, where appropriate, assisting them to test the strength of their case and their appetite for litigation and all that it entails, in order to plot a way through to a resolution. She balances calm, tact and kindness with robust, even-handed challenge where the particular dynamics of the dispute require.
